We have our official 911 address! (Not going to post it here though!) We won't get our little blue (or is our side of the road green?) sign until the house is done. Also, we don't have a mailbox there to get our mail, but it still is exciting to have our address.
We started a few "projects" yesterday. We have somethings that need to be prepped/painted before we could use them. Not being sure we would be able to use them, we tried some things out. And they worked! It was a lot of fun, too, being handy. :)
Check back for more updates.

Start of a driveway
A couple weeks ago, Ryan and Doug started on our driveway. It was fairly slow going because the ground is so hard because of lack of rain. Hopefully, with the last week of wet days, the rest of the driveway will go quickly!

First in a long line!
This blog is to chronicle our adventure of building a new house from the ground up...literally!
Ryan has been talking about building a house since I met him (almost 6 years ago!). It has always been a dream of his to live in a house that he had built. Now, that dream is becoming a reality.
I know that we have a lot of work ahead of us, but it will be worth it in the end!
Below are some pictures of how the land is now, before any construction has begun. We are planning on starting early next spring!
This is the view from my future kitchen.

The closer we get to starting the building (and then once we actually start) my posts will be more numerous and have more pictures!
