Basement walls!

When the weather cooperates, things move fast! We stopped by the house today and the forms were off and the waterproofing applied. Ryan will be putting foam board on the outside and taking final measurements before ordering our floor trusses.

Forms and pouring

They poured the concrete for our basement walls! Ryan was out on Monday and they had gotten the muddy mess cleaned up. They were setting the forms up and poured yesterday.

A little bit of rain..

...makes a big mess. In two days, we had around 3-4 inches of rain. While it was good to fill the ponds, the collapse of one of our walls was not so good.

Footings

They dug the trench for the frost wall and footings. The footings help support the walls and drain water away from the basement. The next day, they poured the concrete into the forms.

Basement

I am posting these all on the same day but there are a few days in between. In these pictures you can see our basement. At the walk out, there is only a foot dug out!

Moving dirt

It has begun. We have started with the "front yard." They moved several feet of dirt off the top of the hill and flattened it out. We are not so much digging a basement as we are building a hill. Our driveway is also in now as well.
